About the Patient Care Technical Unit
The Patient Care Technical Unit (EX), also called PCT, is a systemwide bargaining unit of employees engaged primarily in rendering patient support services at UC’s Medical Centers and in fewer numbers on UC’s campuses. The American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) represents the unit. Currently, the unit includes approximately 21,059 employees*. The unit is represented by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). Currently, the unit includes approximately 10,641 employees*.
