The University of California (UC) and the United Auto Workers (UAW) continued bargaining on August 5 as the parties seek a first systemwide agreement covering approximately 1,600 Communications, Marketing, and Sales Professionals.
During the one-day bargaining session, UAW presented a revised package proposal that included counterproposals on wages and subcontracting, along with the proposed adoption of articles from the RPSP and SSAP agreements ratified on March 20, 2026. The parties discussed the revised proposals before adjourning for the day.
Employees in the UAW ComMaS bargaining unit serve in communications, marketing, outreach, and related professional roles across the institution, helping connect UC with the communities it serves.
The parties will continue bargaining on August 19.
