UC and UAW Reach Two Tentative Agreements as Bargaining Continues for the Communications, Marketing, and Sales Professionals (ComMaS) Unit

The University of California (UC) and the United Auto Workers (UAW) continued negotiations on June 10 toward a first contract covering approximately 1,600 Communications, Marketing, and Sales Professionals represented by the ComMaS bargaining unit. 

At the June 10 bargaining session, UC presented proposals on Release Time, Wages, Subcontracting, and Vacation Leave for former Managers and Senior Professionals (MSP). The UAW passed proposals regarding Release Time, Layoff Impacts, and Wages. The parties reached tentative agreements on Release Time and Wages.  

UC remains committed to bargaining in good faith and building a productive relationship grounded in mutual respect and a shared commitment to advancing UC’s mission of teaching, research, public service, and patient care. 

The parties are scheduled to resume bargaining on June 24.
