Adoption Assistance Plan
UC supports eligible faculty and staff who wish to expand their immediate families through adoption. UC’s Adoption Assistance Plan, administered by WEX Health, provides financial support through reimbursement of up to $5,000 of eligible expenses per adoption.

Flexible Spending Accounts
The Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) allow you to pay eligible expenses on a pretax, salary reduction basis.
- The Dependent Care FSA (DepCare FSA) is for eligible dependent care expenses
- The Health FSA is for eligible health care expenses not covered by your medical, dental, or vision plans.
Homeowner/Renter/Auto Insurance
Farmers GroupSelectSM, a leading U.S. insurer of automobiles, homes and other personal property, has partnered with UC Partnership Programs to provide members of the UC community access to personal, auto, homeowners and renter’s insurance products. If you are a legacy UC California Casualty policyholder, your existing coverage will continue uninterrupted, and your premiums will continue to be paid through payroll deduction. No action is required from you.

Long-Term Care Insurance
A message from CalPERS:
CalPERS has suspended open enrollment in the Long-Term Care Program due to current uncertainty in the long-term care market and is no longer accepting applications.
In November 2020, the CalPERS board approved a rate increase on all Long-Term Care Program policies that was phased in over two years. The first increase of 52% took effect beginning in November 2021. The second increase of 25% took effect beginning in November 2022.
Pet Insurance
UC offers preferred pricing on pet insurance through Nationwide, and you can enroll anytime. Premiums vary depending on your type of pet and where you live, and you’ll pay your premiums directly to Nationwide. Learn more about pet insurance.
Tax Savings on Insurance Premiums (TIP) Plan
If you are enrolled in a medical plan that requires you to pay a premium, you are automatically enrolled in TIP. The plan allows you to pay your share of group health premiums on a pretax basis. More information about TIP plan.
