Update, March 10, 2020: For current information, please see Telemedicine services through UC's health plans
UC’s medical plans are designed to offer convenient access to network providers, with the option of urgent or emergency care when you need it. Telehealth and telemental health services offer another alternative, allowing members to consult with a physician or behavioral health provider via secure online video. Costs are comparable to those of in-network appointments, and consultations are often available right away — even on evenings, weekends or holidays.
Telehealth services do not replace regular visits to your primary care provider. They can be a valuable option, though, if you or your enrolled family member is experiencing a non-emergency medical issue and it’s not possible or convenient to schedule an appointment with your regular doctor.
With telemental health services, members can consult with a licensed behavioral health provider via online video. To manage ongoing care, members schedule follow-up appointments and receive prescriptions through an online portal.
Many of UC’s medical plans offer telehealth options for all eligible members. Just contact the telehealth provider covered by your health plan to sign up for an account and learn more about the service.
