Are you thinking of buying a new car this month? If so, you might want to take advantage of a limited-time $1,000 discount for UC employees on the Nissan LEAF, a 100 percent electric, zero-emission car.

The discount is available to all UC employees and is part of the staff engagement efforts for President Napolitano’s Carbon Neutrality Initiative.

With tax and local incentives, savings could add up to as much at $10,000 on the car, which, according to Nissan:

  • is the best-selling zero-emission vehicle in the world,
  • saves you up to $8,750 in fuel costs over five years,
  • drives 2.5 times further than the average driver’s daily needs, and
  • eliminates the need to buy gas or have oil changes and smog checks.
