During the two-day bargaining session, the University passed proposals on Holidays, Hours of Work, and Wages, and a counterproposal on Medical Separation. The Teamsters passed proposals on Layoff and Reduction in Time, Per Diem Rates, and Wages, along with counterproposals relating to Arbitration Panels, Holidays, Medical Separation, and Sick Leave.
The parties reached a tentative agreement on Layoff and Reduction in Time, a promising sign of progress and collaboration. To date, they have reached tentative agreements on 34 articles.
Clerical and allied services employees play an essential role across the institution, supporting the University’s campuses, medical centers, and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. UC is encouraged by the progress being made at the bargaining table and looks forward to reaching a fair and sustainable agreement for these vital employees.
The current contract expires on May 30, 2026. The parties will continue bargaining on May 12-14.
