The UC Health Center for Data-driven Insights and Innovation (CDI2) has released its 2024-2025 Annual Report. The report highlights how CDI2 has deepened collaborations across the university and our state, including projects aimed at improving ambulatory care access, maternal health, chronic disease management and patient safety.
The report provides a comprehensive summary of collaborative programs and initiatives over the last fiscal year, including:
- Migrating the UC Health Data Warehouse (UCHDW) to a cloud-based infrastructure and incorporating clinical notes into the warehouse for the first time — helping to significantly enhance capabilities.
- Deepening collaborations across UC Health through targeted projects, including improving ambulatory care access, maternal health, chronic disease management and patient safety.
- Growing CDI2-supported research initiatives, with user engagement on the CDI2’s secure data science research environment increasing by more than 113%. CDI2 also contributed to high-impact research projects, notably in Alzheimer’s disease and autoimmune treatment guidelines.
- Strengthening strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as Merck, Amgen, Genentech, and BeOne Medicines to further reinforce UC Health’s prominence in generating impactful real-world evidence. To date, these partnerships have facilitated over $3M in funding directly to campuses.
- Promoting responsible artificial intelligence governance, providing expert input on legislative matters and creating frameworks for ethical and secure AI use.
A cornerstone of UC Health’s efforts to develop a data-driven learning health care system committed to improving health outcomes, CDI2 appreciates the steadfast support and engagement from leaders, colleagues and partners across UC in this mission-driven work.
