The Higher Education Employer–Employee Relations Act, which governs collective bargaining of higher education employers in the state of California, requires that the university as the employer provide notice to the public before it begins negotiations with an exclusive representative.

The University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3299 (AFSCME), Skilled Crafts Bargaining Unit (K7), representing approximately 47 employees at UCSC campus will negotiate a successor agreement for this unit. Local bargaining may begin following completion of the public notice meetings scheduled below.

The university will convene initial public notice meetings on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 10 a.m. – noon and Friday, June 16, 2017 from 10 a.m. – noon at 100 Enterprise Way, Conference room 1104, Scotts Valley, CA 95066. Copies of initial bargaining proposals will be available at the meetings.
