If you’ve got 30 minutes of downtime today, stop scrolling through other people’s curated accomplishments — and instead, build more of your own! It’s easy to boost your career with free professional development courses through the UC Learning Center. And, you’ll be in good company: The UC Learning Center has 325,000 active users, including staff, faculty, student employees and others.

The UC Learning Center was among the first universitywide systems; the earliest adopting locations welcomed users in 2007. Each month, 80,000 unique users log into the UC Learning Center, and since the beginning of 2019 alone, users have completed more than one million online courses and registered for or attended over 100,000 in-person classes.

Ongoing learning is essential for every career

Whether you’re a two-month, two-year or 20-year UC employee, there’s always something new to learn. Ongoing professional development helps you stay relevant in your field, gives you new perspectives and ideas, offers new opportunities for collaboration and boosts your eligibility to explore future opportunities.

The UC Learning Center, available to employees at all locations except UC Hastings,[1] allows you to search for and view hundreds of virtual and local learning opportunities, from compliance to communication to leadership development and technical skills. As it houses more than 90,000 activities systemwide — including over 26,000 online courses and nearly 50,000 in-person training classes — there’s something to suit nearly every interest and career goal.

Ready, get set, learn!

Each UC location manages their own training content and in-person classes for their employees. Some course availability varies by location.
