UC and Teamsters Contract Negotiations Progress for Clerical and Administrative Employees

The University of California and Teamsters Local 2010 made measurable progress in negotiations on the successor agreement for Clerical and Administrative Support Staff in sessions held on October 28 and November 18-19.
October 28: During the session, UC passed an initial Wage proposal and passed revisions to University Benefits and Parking for union consideration.
The Teamsters passed proposals on Arbitration Process, Arbitration Panel, Layoff and Reduction in Time, Personnel Files, Positions and Appointments, Probationary Period, and Work Rules.
November 18-19: UC passed proposals on Access and Union Rights, Sick Leave, Military Leave and Medical Separation.
The union passed an initial Wage proposal, as well as proposals on Vacation, Job Abandonment and Shift Differentials.
The parties reached tentative agreements (TAs) on Probationary Period, Positions/Appointments, and Military leave. Demonstrating a strong spirit of collaboration and a willingness to engage in efficient, productive bargaining, UC and the Teamsters have reached Tentative Agreements on 22 of the 45 articles.
Clerical and administrative staff play a vital role in the UC system’s work and global impact. Despite severe financial challenges, we are actively engaged in bargaining to find fair, balanced solutions that benefit our employees while ensuring our campus’s long-term strength.
The next bargaining sessions are scheduled for December 10-11.
