UC and Teamsters Bargaining Negotiations Punctuated by Substantial Wage Offer for Clerical and Allied Services Employees

The University of California and Teamsters Local 2010 continued successor bargaining negotiations on Feb. 24-25 for approximately 20,100 Clerical and Allied Services staff in the CX unit.

During the negotiations, UC presented a Wage offer that includes across-the-board raises and step increases. Eligible employees would receive:  

  • 6% Increase in 2026
  • 6% Increase in 2027 
  • 5.5% Increase in 2028
  • 5% Increase in 2029

UC’s Wage offer also provides $1,000 longevity payments for employees with 20 years of service.

During the two days of bargaining, UC also passed proposals on Access, Agreement, Payroll Deductions, Shift Differential, Subcontracting, Sick Leave, and Vacation. The Union passed proposals on Access, Agreement, Benefits, Payroll Deductions, Shift Differential, and Subcontracting. To date, the parties have reached tentative agreements on 30 contract articles, an encouraging sign of collaboration as the parties continue bargaining.

Clerical and Allied Services staff play a critical role in supporting UC’s mission of teaching, research, and public service and keeping the institution’s campuses, medical centers, and the Lawrence Berkleley National Laboratory running. Although these negotiations are taking place against a backdrop of financial pressure stemming from uncertainty in the federal budget landscape, UC remains committed to bargaining in good faith to reach a fair, balanced solution that benefits employees while ensuring the University’s long-term strength.

The parties are scheduled to continue bargaining March 17 and 18.
