The University of California and Teamsters Local 2010 continued negotiations on February 10-11 on a successor agreement for approximately 20,100 Clerical and Allied Services staff in the CX unit.

During the two days of bargaining, UC passed proposals on Agreement, Out-of-Classification Assignment, Wages, and University Benefits. The Teamsters passed proposals covering Holidays, Hours of Work, Out-of-Classification Assignment, Payroll Deductions, Shift Differential, Vacation, and Respectful, Fair Treatment. The parties reached tentative agreements on Out-of-Classification Assignment and Respectful, Fair Treatment.

The parties have now reached tentative agreements on 30 of the contract articles, a positive sign of progress as the parties continue negotiations.

Clerical and Allied Services staff play a critical role in supporting UC’s mission of teaching, research, and public service. While the University of California system continues to experience financial pressures stemming from uncertainty in the federal budget landscape, we remain committed to bargaining in good faith to reach a fair, balanced solution that benefits employees while ensuring the institution’s long-term strength.

The parties are scheduled to continue bargaining February 24-25.
