UC and Teamsters Continue Negotiations for Clerical and Allied Services Employees
The University of California and Teamsters Local 2010 engaged in two days of productive negotiations this week on a successor agreement for the Clerical and Allied Services staff in the CX unit.
Jan. 13: During the session, UC passed articles covering Holidays, Medical Separation, Shift Differential, Vacation, and Wages. The Teamsters passed articles addressing Agreement, Subcontracting, Training and Development, and Transfer, Promotion and Reclassification.
Jan 14: The University passed articles on Layoff and Reduction in Time, and Training and Development, and the union passed articles covering Out of Classification Assignment, Training and Development, and Wages.
The parties reached a tentative agreement (TA) to maintain the current contract language (CCL) for Article 38, Training and Development.
Clerical and Allied Services staff play an essential role in the UC system’s work and global impact. As the University of California system continues to experience financial pressures stemming from uncertainty in the federal budget landscape, we remain committed to bargaining in good faith to reach a fair, balanced solution that benefits employees while ensuring the institution’s long-term strength.
Bargaining will continue on Jan. 26.
