Fire Savvy: Finding and Navigating Fire Information in California
May 21, 9 – 10 a.m.
If your community is, or may be, impacted by wildfire, determining the best source for up-to-date information can be overwhelming. In this workshop, UC Agriculture and Natural Resources Fire Network experts will discuss how fire information plays out at different scales, from individual fire incidents to the larger landscape and climate, and will share helpful tools you can access when emergency strikes. UC Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) 2026: From Policy to Practice: Strengthening Accessibility Across UC

As the UC system advances digital accessibility and prepares for upcoming regulatory milestones, this session focuses on what it takes to move from policy to implementation. Through a panel discussion, real-world AI use cases, and a practical training on audio description, participants will explore how accessibility is being operationalized across campuses and how to build skills that support inclusive digital experiences. The AI Roadmap — Driving from Idea to Innovation

The UC AI Council is launching a new AI Literacy webinar series, which will help educate and inform colleagues throughout the university about the use, considerations, benefits and risks of using artificial intelligence at work. In this inaugural session, UC AI experts will examine the full trajectory of AI adoption and key considerations along the way. They will explore how to build a business use case, navigate risk assessment processes and vet external vendors or leverage existing AI tools to accelerate AI implementation. Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Month Event: Returning to Each Other
May 21, 1 – 2 p.m.
Join the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine for a special event commemorating Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This workshop builds on individual Community Resiliency Model (CRM) skills by exploring how awareness of the nervous system can strengthen relationships, teams and communities. Grounded in the theme “Power in Unity: Strengthening Communities Together,” participants will examine how collective stress responses manifest in groups, workplaces, affinity spaces and community settings, and learn how CRM can support restorative communication, just culture, psychological safety and culturally responsive care. The goal is to help participants apply CRM-informed practices in ways that deepen belonging, support accountability and strengthen community resilience across differences.
Jewish American Heritage Month Event: Amara Yad — From Remembrance to Responsibility in Medical Practice

Join the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine for a special event commemorating Jewish American Heritage Month. The Amara Yad Project is a physician-led initiative from UCLA dedicated to advancing ethical medical education and honoring victims of historical medical exploitation. Founded by Dr. Kalyanam Shivkumar, the project seeks to create a new generation of open-access, ethically sourced anatomical atlases that both support modern clinical care and restore integrity to the field.

Mitigating Risk through Awareness: A Framework for AI Literacy

In the second session of the UC AI Council’s AI Literacy webinar series, UC AI experts will tackle the question: “How do we upskill our system’s AI literacy?” They will focus on defining AI literacy and implementing AI for practical use while ensuring that faculty and staff understand how to use AI, the ethics and responsibilities of AI use and resources to support these efforts. They will also share ideas and strategies for engaging faculty and staff on AI literacy.
UC Systemwide Academic Congress: Shaping Global Futures — International Education in the California Context
