On Jan. 19, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., join UC colleagues for the 2024 UC-Wide First-Gen Virtual Symposium. Hosted by the UC First Gen Coalition, this event will present an opportunity to engage in conversations around leveraging our collective knowledge to recruit, support and retain first-gen undergraduate and graduate students.
Participants will be able to share ideas on program development and increasing visibility on our campuses, understand the changing landscape of student success in a post-pandemic world, and consider new strategies to further the success of students at each of our institutions.
Our keynote speaker is Marcela G. Cuellar, Ph.D., associate professor and chancellor’s fellow, School of Education, UC Davis. Dr. Cuellar’s research examines access and equity in higher education, Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) and emerging HSIs, and Latinx student success.
All student affairs professionals, faculty and academic affairs professionals serving first-gen college students are welcome to attend.
