UC continues to work hard on a new, long-term contract that provides you and your colleagues with annual wage increases, quality health care and excellent retirement benefits that few employers can match.

At the Feb. 13–14 bargaining session, UC offered UPTE a comprehensive, four-year contract that includes:

  • Guaranteed wage increases for next four years: A 2 percent across-the-board increase for all bargaining unit members in salary ranges, plus additional equity increases for some employees based on local markets.
  • Quality medical benefits: Excellent health benefits for you and your family at the same rates as other UC employees with similar salaries.
  • Excellent retirement benefits that are among the most generous in the market. Current employees will see no change in their pension benefits, while future employees hired after a new contract is ratified would be given a choice between a traditional pension plan and a 401(k)-style plan — few employers offer this kind of choice or a pension plan. Offering future employees this choice will not harm the pension benefits of current employees.
  • Long-term stability: A four-year contract that provides both employees and the university with stability through 2021.

Thank you for the contributions you make every day at our medical centers and campus health centers.
