Farmers Insurance

Update, Aug. 8, 2025: Due to major shifts in California’s insurance market, the University of California has ended its contract with Farmers Insurance. As a result, new policies under the Farmers Home and Auto Insurance® program are no longer available to UC staff or retirees. This applies to all 10 UC campuses, six health centers, UC Agriculture and Natural Resources, UC College of the Law, and Berkeley Lab. Existing policies will be honored through their expiration date.

We encourage staff and retirees to explore alternative insurance options on the open market.

If you have a current home or auto insurance policy through UC with Farmers GroupSelect and want to ensure new coverage upon expiration of that policy, you must contact Farmers now at: 855-246-0285.

Significant changes in the California insurance landscape have made Farmers unable to renew current Farmers GroupSelect home and auto policies upon expiration. You already may have received or will soon receive a non-renewal notice for those policies.

Farmers wants to keep serving you with a new policy. To ensure new coverage and review potential discounts, deductible options, and limits, please call Farmers now at 855-246-0285.

Also, if you have an independent Farmers policy (not through UC) that will not be renewed, you may still qualify for a new group policy through UC. Please call to explore your options.

Call 855-246-0285 now to get a new Farmers home or auto policy that ensures the coverage you need through UC’s trusted insurance partner.
