The UC Community Safety Plan is a living document that will be refined through the collective efforts of our communities. As part of this process, the UC Office of the President is asking for feedback on the draft Guidelines and Recommendations regarding Community Safety Vehicles, Uniforms and Equipment (VUE) for every tier in the campus/community safety models, including for police officers, public safety providers and mental health responders.
These draft guidelines were developed by a systemwide workgroup that includes students, faculty and staff, as set out in Action 1.14 of the plan.
We invite the UC community to send feedback, questions or comments on the draft guidelines and recommendations to CampusSafety@ucop.edu by June 3, 2022. Feedback will be considered by the VUE workgroup in advance of the official acceptance of these recommendations.
