During three days of negotiations Aug. 1–3, UC and the California Nurses Association discussed a wide range of topics and narrowed differences on several core issues. UC and the union also agreed to continue negotiations the week of Aug. 20.
Items discussed during the Aug. 1–3 session included:
- Wages
- Health benefits
- Retirement benefits
- Parking rates
- Rights for per diem and floating nurses
- Educational requirements
UC offered enhancements and indicated flexibility on a number of issues, and looks forward to continuing to work with the union to close remaining gaps.
