As you do everything you can to stay healthy during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, UC’s health plans are closely monitoring and following guidance from the State of California and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to make sure members receive the best possible care.

To ensure that the cost of health care will not be an obstacle to testing of COVID-19, California health plans have been directed to waive costs for screening and testing of the disease.

Please note: To provide relief for people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government issued a rule and related guidance giving employees and non-Medicare retirees flexibility to make changes to their group health plan coverage and more time to complete certain transactions. Getting the advice and care you need

If you or a member of your family develops symptoms or you believe you’ve been exposed to COVID-19, call your doctor or health plan at the number on your membership card so they can direct you to the most appropriate care.

Telehealth services, available through all UC health plans, let you access medical and mental health care without leaving home — and many plans have enhanced their options and benefits in response to COVID-19. During this stressful time, make sure to tend to your emotional, as well as physical, health. While many behavioral health treatment providers aren’t available for in-person appointments right now, your UC health plan covers visits with a licensed counselor, psychologist or psychiatrist by phone or video

To receive all of the latest updates from your plan, register for an account and provide your email address and phone number. Another perk of registering with your plan is that you’ll have free access through your personal account to the myStrength app, a confidential and personalized online resource designed to support your mental and physical health.
