Dear colleagues,
After a comprehensive national search, I am pleased to announce that Nicoli Richardson will join the University of California as its new Systemwide Title IX Director, effective March 17, 2025. Nicoli will lead the Systemwide Title IX Office (STIXO), which as you know is part of the Systemwide Office of Civil Rights (SOCR), and she will report directly to me. STIXO will continue to focus on providing education, guidance, and strategic and investigative support to the Title IX Offices at UC’s 10 campuses, six academic health centers, and the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab.
Nicoli Richardson, University of California Systemwide Title IX Director, effective March 17, 2025
Nicoli brings significant subject matter expertise to the role. Currently, she is serving as the Assistant Vice President and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Healthcare at the University of Southern California’s Office for Equity, Equal Opportunity, and Title IX. There, she manages responses to all reports of discrimination and harassment, in particular Title IX matters, arising in the healthcare context, including at USC’s academic medical centers, affiliated hospitals, and in all healthcare-related schools and academic programs. In addition, Nicoli was responsible for fostering effective relationships across the USC healthcare system and providing education programs to faculty, staff, and students.
Prior to her time at USC, Nicoli worked for more than a decade as a private practice attorney, handling various civil matters arising in the healthcare industry, including those involving sexual misconduct and discrimination.
Nicoli earned her undergraduate degree in English with a minor in Spanish from Stanford University and her juris doctorate degree from the University of Miami School of Law.
