UC Berkeley hosted the Council of UC Staff Assemblies (CUCSA)‘s Spring Quarter meeting from June 4 through June 6, 2025.

The delegation enjoyed a final conversation with UC President Michael V. Drake, M.D., in advance of his retirement. They also had the opportunity to meet with several other UC and UC Berkeley leaders, including UC Berkeley Chancellor Rich Lyons, UC Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Rachael Nava and UC Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Nathan Brostrom.

CUCSA’s Compensation, Sustainable Workforce and Well-Being workgroups presented their final 2024-2025 reports.

The quarterly meeting discussions focused on many challenging issues facing the university and staff, including the impacts of:

  • Federal social policies and funding measures
  • Staff workforce reduction
  • Ambiguity and complexity around labor union updates
  • Burnout and work-related stress
