Western Health Advantage expands service area in northern California

Some UC employees and retirees living in northern California will have a new medical plan choice for 2015.

Western Health Advantage (WHA), a regional HMO serving Sacramento and Davis, is expanding its service area to include Marin, Napa and Sonoma counties.

Faculty, staff and retirees not enrolled in Medicare who live in those counties may enroll in the plan. The Meritage Medical Network, with almost 200 primary care physicians and more than 450 specialists, serves the new area. Six hospitals — Santa Rosa Memorial, Healdsburg District, Queen of the Valley, Sonoma Valley, Petaluma Valley and Marin General — are in the WHA network of providers.
