UC and UAW Continue Negotiations for First Student Services and Advisory Professionals Contract

The University of California met with the United Auto Workers (UAW) union on July 23 to continue bargaining for the Student Services and Advisory Professionals (SSAP-SV) contract. 

During the session, UC presented four proposals for UAW review, detailing contract language for articles on appointments, recognition, modality, and reasonable accommodation.

The UAW team presented five proposals to UC on vacation leave, health and safety, union access, union security, and discipline and dismissal.  

The two parties will continue to meet bimonthly to work through the contract terms, exchanging proposals and counterproposals until they reach a mutually beneficial agreement. The next bargaining session is tentatively scheduled for August 13.
