November Update: UC and CIR-SEIU Continue Negotiations for Systemwide Medical Resident Contract

The University of California and the Committee of Interns and Residents/SEIU (CIR-SEIU) continued negotiations for the first systemwide contract for medical residents. Below is a summary of proposals passed during the last three bargaining sessions held on October 27, November 6, and November 18.

Both the union and UC have committed to negotiating this first systemwide contract for Medical Residents in ways that advance both parties’ respective interests and promote the sustainability of the medical academic programs. The next bargaining session is scheduled for December 2.
