Joint UC-Teamsters Local 2010 statement on new multiyear contract for clerical employees and other administrative staff

University of California officials, Teamsters Local 2010 leaders, and bargaining team members today (Oct. 24) are pleased to announce that UC’s more than 13,000 clerical employees, library assistants, child care teachers and other administrative staff represented by the Teamsters have ratified a new four-year contract.

The new contract, effective July 1, 2022, through March 31, 2026, provides annual across-the-board pay increases totaling 15 percent over the life of the contract including a 6 percent across-the-board pay increase in the first year, annual step increases starting in the second year of the agreement, a $3,000 lump sum payment, and other pay and contract improvements.

The contract recognizes the vital role these employees play in UC’s delivery of world-class service to students, medical center and clinic patients, faculty, staff and the public at large, and their commitment and resilience over the past two and a half years throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

UC and the Teamsters attribute the success of the agreement to both sides working collaboratively throughout the negotiations to find solutions to key issues.
