Next month, UC leaders, faculty, and staff will gather for a dynamic virtual summit to discuss the concept of academic freedom, its enduring role on our campuses, and contemporary controversies surrounding this foundational principle.

The UC Systemwide Academic Freedom Congress, taking place on Monday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (PT), is open to all UC staff and faculty members and will showcase experts and thought leaders from UC and the greater higher education community. The engaging full-day agenda will center on timely and important topics involving academic freedom, including free speech on campus and university governance. View the detailed agenda.

This event is co-sponsored by the Office of the UC Provost, the UC Academic Senate’s Committee on Academic Freedom and the UC National Center for Free Speech and Civic Engagement.
