University of California, Public Notice Process Under HEERA (CIR/SEIU)

The Higher Education Employer–Employee Relations Act, which governs collective bargaining of higher education employers in the state of California, requires that the university as the employer provide notice to the public before it begins negotiations with an exclusive representative.

The University of California, Davis and the Committee on Interns and Residents (CIR), covering approximately 800 employees at the UC Davis Health campus, will negotiate an initial contract for this Unit. Local bargaining may begin following completion of the public notice meetings scheduled below.

The University will convene an initial public notice meeting on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Health campus, 4610 X St, Sacramento, CA 95817, in the Education Building, RM 2229. A second public meeting will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Health campus, 4610 X St, Sacramento, CA 95817, Education Building, RM 2207. 

Copies of initial bargaining proposals will be available at the meetings.  Interested members of the public may secure copies of initial bargaining proposals from both parties, online at https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/.

Copies of the procedures governing the required public notice meeting may be requested in person or by mail from the University of California, Labor Relations, 300 Lakeside Drive, 10th floor, Oakland, CA 94612-3550.
