The Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act, which governs collective bargaining of higher education employers in the state of California, requires that the University as the employer provide notice to the public before it begins negotiations with an exclusive representative.
The University of California, Irvine (UCI), will begin meeting and conferring under the Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act with Teamsters, Local 2010 (Teamsters). The union is the exclusive representative of the skilled crafts employees at the campus in Irvine and the Medical Center in Orange. The University and Teamsters will begin negotiating over a successor to the current collective bargaining agreement, which will expire on June 30, 2021.
The University will convene initial public notice meetings on April 23, 2021 from 10:00am to 11:00am and on May 6, 2021 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.
