Since it was created in 1972, the federal Pell Grant has helped approximately 80 million low-income students to go to college. And, on June 23, there’s a lot to celebrate: The nation’s most important program for college affordability turns 50!
Happy 50th birthday to the Pell Grant! It’s helped millions of students access college & we need your help to keep it that way. Sign the @UofCalifornia Pell birthday card and encourage Congress to support the future of this critical program: https://t.co/oxWQKMiHWd pic.twitter.com/HJ4UWq4z4E

Join President Drake, UC and the UC Student Association in celebrating this milestone by signing a birthday card to the Pell Grant, wishing it even more success in the years ahead. We’ll deliver the card to Congress to highlight the importance of reinvesting in the program so that the next generation can also experience the #PowerOfPell.
