From President Drake: A month to come together

February is Black History Month and I am looking forward to continued celebrations and gatherings with University of California staff and community members over the next several weeks.
I encourage you all to connect with colleagues, students and faculty at local and systemwide Black History Month events — many of which are taking place virtually. I hope to also personally meet with some of you at the UCSF Black Caucus’ Annual Black Heritage Month Gala and the University of California Black Administrators’ Council Annual Conference at UC Riverside later this month.
As previously announced, the Staff Advisors to the UC Regents, Priya Lakireddy and Jo Mackness, and I will be holding a virtual UC Town Hall on Feb. 24 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (PT). I hope you will plan to join us. This is the first time we have come together for a university-wide staff event and we are planning a meaningful and lively conversation.
