A Veterans Day message from President Drake: Celebrating those who have served

Dear Colleagues,
As we commemorate Veterans Day this November 11, I wish to express my sincere admiration and gratitude for the selfless service of our UC military community.
Thousands of students, alumni, faculty and staff members across the University of California have served and continue to serve our nation, balancing their personal hopes and aspirations alongside their commitment to protecting our country and democracy. Many more of our students and colleagues provide indispensable, compassionate support to family, friends, and community members who have worn the uniform of our nation. Today — and every day — we are grateful for these contributions and for the perspectives and experiences that servicemembers and veterans bring to our campuses.
On behalf of the University of California, it is my honor to recognize and celebrate UC veterans and their families for their dedicated service on behalf of our nation, and on behalf of us all.
