Series Concept
Echocardiographic Technicians perform all 2-dimensional, M-mode, and Doppler studies including stress echocardiogram, pharmacological stress echocardiogram, and assist with transesophageal echocardiograms. Incumbents prepare preliminary interpretation of echo studies, maintain study records and perform other related duties as assigned.
Echocardiographic Technicians work within guidelines established by a cardiac imaging physicians performing advanced cardiac physical diagnoses and physiological data measurements which require knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.
Class Concepts
Echocardiographic Technician
Under supervision, incumbents perform diagnostic echocardiographic procedures and related duties as described in the series concept.
Echocardiographic Technician Senior
