Class Concept

Under supervision, collect blood by venipuncture and arterial puncture. Assist in preparation of specimens and operate selected equipment.

Obtain blood specimens from patients utilizing arterial puncture, venipuncture, and other medically accepted techniques. Prepare blood specimens for analysis. Follow infection control and other safety procedures. Maintain computer and manual systems as directed. Follow up on late results.

Maintain sufficient supplies. Maintain clean and orderly work area. Performs other duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess State of California phlebotomy certificate and phlebotomy experience.
