Class Concept

Under close supervision, Per Diem Seasonal Farm Workers perform unskilled agricultural tasks in and around research plots in fields, orchards, nurseries, green houses and range land. Incumbents perform the most basic, unskilled tasks such as hand weeding and thinning, hoeing, trimming cleaning, planting and harvesting.

The Per Diem Seasonal Farm Worker class is used for positions needed on a temporary basis and for which incumbents do not have continuing responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
