After reviewing proposals from competitors, UC renewed its contract with Delta Dental, which continues to have the largest provider network. Switching from Delta Dental would have put providers for over 80,000 members out-of-network.

To assist members in the PPO plan who are unable to find an in-network provider, UC is increasing coverage for certain services provided by Premier and out-of-network providers. The percentage of maximum allowed costs covered by the plan will increase from 75% to 80% for the following services:

• Sealant benefits
• Endodontics (root canal)
• Periodontics (gum treatment)
• Oral surgery

Please note: In-network dentists agree to set charges for covered services, so your costs will be lower in-network. Premier and Out-of-Network dentists may bill the difference between their usual fee and the maximum Delta Dental will pay.

• For retirees who pay part of the premium, dental coverage costs are increasing by 2.5% for the DeltaCare HMO plan and by 2.1% for the PPO plan. 
• Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance premiums are increasing by 10%.
