While UC’s costs for dental and vision plans will increase in 2026, UC continues to pay the full cost of dental and vision coverage for employees and their eligible dependents, with enhanced coverage through the Dental PPO plan. Learn more about UC-paid coverage and extra options to protect you and your family.
What’s changing
After reviewing proposals from competitors, UC renewed its contract with Delta Dental, which continues to have the largest provider network. Switching from Delta Dental would have put providers for over 80,000 members out-of-network.
To assist members in the PPO plan who are unable to find an in-network provider, UC is increasing coverage for certain services provided by Premier and out-of-network providers. The percentage of maximum allowed costs covered by the plan will increase from 75% to 80% for the following services:
- Sealant benefits
- Endodontics (root canal)
- Periodontics (gum treatment)
- Oral surgery
Please note: In-network dentists agree to set charges for covered services, so your costs will be lower in-network. Premier and Out-of-Network dentists may bill the difference between their usual fee and the maximum Delta Dental will pay.
The hospital admission benefit will be available after 18 hours of observation, replacing the 24-hour requirement previously in place.
Premiums are decreasing by 8% for employee supplemental life insurance and increasing by 10% for Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D).
Voluntary disability, supplemental life, and AD&D insurance are not available options during Open Enrollment on UCPath. Find out how to make changes to voluntary disability, supplemental life and AD&D insurance.
Dental
Choose a Delta Dental DHMO plan for lower costs or a DPPO plan for more flexibility. Be sure there are dentists available in your area before enrolling in the DHMO plan.

There are no changes to vision benefits for next year.
