Class Concept

Under general direction, Nurse Coordinators provide expert nursing care for patients with a variety of complex treatment options. They serve as a primary point of contact for patients, referring physicians, and staff, coordinating and facilitating patient care in specialty areas.

The Nurse Coordinator provides leadership for collaborative patient care across both inpatient and outpatient settings, emphasizing education and ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the entire patient experience to achieve the best possible health outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

Possession of a valid California Registered Nurse license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and either a Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing, or a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing. Additionally, a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.

One year of clinical experience must be in the area of specialization.
