Collaborates with stakeholders, adheres to standards, and often serves as a consultant for technology planning and decision-making. Researches and prototypes emerging technologies and approaches.

Custom ScopeApplies skills as a seasoned, experienced IT architecture professional with a full understanding of current practices and relevant policies and procedures to resolve a wide range of issues. Effectively selects methods and techniques to obtain solutions. This title is bargaining unit only. There should never be an uncovered position.  Applies advanced IT architecture concepts and campus / medical center / OP or community-specific objectives to resolve highly complex issues with significant impact on the organization. Regularly works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Effectively selects criteria for evaluating results. Typically, the bargaining unit job code should be used for work covered by this title. However, if the position is not covered by the Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) due to one of the following reasons—(1) Confidential status, where duties normally require access to confidential information that significantly influences the development of management’s bargaining or grievance positions; (2) employed outside of California at a location with 100 or fewer employees; or (3) Supervisory status, where duties include supervising employees as a regular part of the job—then the position should be listed under the generic title without the “TX” ending.  Having wide-ranging experience, applies IT architecture concepts to resolve the most complex issues with campus / medical center / OP-wide, institution-wide and / or multi-institutional impact. Has responsibility for the stewardship of the campus / medical center / OP overall IT architecture and / or is recognized as the campus / medical center / OP top expert in one or more technology areas of high criticality to a large-scale enterprise architecture. Works on most complex issues with little or no campus / medical center / OP precedent where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Designs and develops complex users’ system interfaces, business software prototypes and software products or major enhancements to existing software.Initiates, designs and deploys large scale systems.
