Job Summary
Involves the on-site administrative, research, facilities management and / or cultivation functions involved in establishing and maintaining field research sites / studies for a variety of disciplines (including environmental, public health, social and / or biological sciences). Field research sites / studies span a diverse range of domestic and international regions to support research activities.

| Custom Scope | Under direct guidance of senior researcher, applies acquired skills and knowledge of applicable research discipline to support field research projects of small to medium size and intermediate scope and complexity, including but not limited to research in environmental, public health, social or biological science disciplines. This title is bargaining unit only. There should never be an uncovered position. | Under the general direction of senior researchers, provides scientific guidance and assistance with implementation, design and monitoring of a field site / study including but not limited to environmental, public health, social or biological science disciplines. Regularly works on highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Typically, the bargaining unit job code should be used for work covered by this title. However, if the position is not covered by the Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) due to one of the following reasons—(1) Confidential status, where duties normally require access to confidential information that significantly influences the development of management’s bargaining or grievance positions; (2) employed outside of California at a location with 100 or fewer employees; or (3) Supervisory status, where duties include supervising employees as a regular part of the job—then the position should be listed under the generic title without the “RP” ending. |
