Custom ScopeApplies acquired knowledge of anatomical donation protocols and biospecimen handling procedures to complete substantive tissue collection, preparation, and distribution assignments of moderate scope and complexity. Exercises judgment within established safety guidelines and donation protocols to determine appropriate action in tissue repository operations.Applies comprehensive understanding of anatomical donation protocols and biospecimen management to independently perform the full range of tissue repository responsibilities; possesses broad knowledge of donation procedures, regulatory compliance, and research support; analyzes complex donation scenarios and determines appropriate solutions.
Key Resp 01Ensures proper handling, preservation and transport of biospecimen materials following all established protocols.Ensures quality control throughout all anatomical donation and biospecimen management processes.
Key Resp 02Assists in recovering and preparing  human anatomical materials for dissection, fixation, and freezing. Prepares biologic specimens according to specifications.Independently performs extraction, preparation, examination, analysis, storage, and distribution of human biospecimen materials.
Key Resp 03Ensures all equipment, instruments, and facilities are properly cleaned, maintained, and sterilized.Assists with daily operations. Trains staff and ensures compliance with standards and procedures. May assign work tasks to junior staff members.
Key Resp 04Coordinates inventory of anatomical lab equipment and supplies.Orders laboratory supplies. Prepares and maintains stock solutions for laboratory research processes.
Key Resp 05Participates in record keeping, including specimen tracking, death certificates, permits, and crematory logs.Maintains detailed records for specimen tracking and statistical information. Provides data for progress reports,  grants, and research manuscripts. 
Key Resp 06Obtains medical records, enters and organizes donor information within data management systems, and maintains accurate donor files.Manages legal and regulatory documentation for anatomical donations. Suggests improvements to existing protocols to improve efficiency.
Key Resp 07Coordinates autopsy scheduling with mortuaries, hospitals, and Pathology.Recommends autopsy cases for tissue requests. Prioritizes requests and arranges tissue distribution to scientific investigators.  
Key Resp 08Provides support to the Body Donation Program and Anatomical Preparation Morgue.Organizes educational seminars, outreach, and promotes the availability of biospecimens to scientific investigators.
Key Resp 09Performs blood draw and submits samples for serological testing and disease assessment.Ensures proper preparation of tissue requests and maintains high standards for specimen quality and documentation.
Key Resp 10Submits death certificates collaborating with healthcare professionals and county health department officials.Actively monitors and ensures compliance with safety regulations when handling biohazardous materials.
