Key Responsibilities | Administers massage therapy to patients monitoring level of comfort and response. Provides techniques for postural improvement, stretching, strengthening and relaxation. Provides off-site and/or department specific massage sessions as scheduled by unit director or Recreational Sports department. Recognizes potential patient/client problems and reports observations to unit leader. May confer with other professionals to plan patient care. Maintains patient/client treatment records. Provides draping as established by the standards set forth by the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). Abides by AMTA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. Adheres to all hospital policies and procedures and complies with applicable HIPPA regulations. Maintains professional relationship respecting patient/client privacy within the constraints of the law. Maintains clean, orderly and sanitary treatment area. Cleans and sanitizes all equipment used for therapy. May monitor laundering of sheets and towels. Attends meetings and department in-service training. |
