Series Concept
GI Endoscopy Technicians perform a wide variety of technical procedures in a hospital GI Endoscopy Unit or outpatient GI Endoscopy Unit.
The GI Endoscopy Technician series consists of three classes which are differentiated by the complexity of technical responsibilities. Generally, the more repetitive less complex technical responsibilities are made at the entry level GI Endoscopy Technician I class. The GI Endoscopy Technician II class includes responsibility for more technically complex equipment and procedures and responsibility for an endoscope culturing program. The GI Endoscopy Technician III class includes responsibility for equipment associated with highly complex interventional procedures such as ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound as well as departmental CQI program and developmental responsibilities.
Class Concept
