Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. This title is bargaining unit only. There should never be an uncovered position.Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and campus policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. This title is bargaining unit only. There should never be an uncovered position.Uses advanced professional concepts and campus objectives to resolve highly complex issues. Regularly works on highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Normally, you would use the bargaining unit job code for work covered by the title.  If this is a position that is not covered by the Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA), because they are: 1) Confidential – meaning employee’s duties normally require access to confidential information which contributes significantly to the development of management’s positions in bargaining or grievances; or 2) the employee is employed outside of California at a location with 100 or fewer employees or 3) Supervisory – supervises employee as regular part of the job duties, then you would be the generic title without the HX ending.
Key ResponsibilitiesUnder supervision, applies professional concepts to provide counseling and assessment services. Receives regular feedback on clinical techniques employed on assigned cases. Under supervision, and in collaboration with other behavioral health counselors, participates in crisis management and intervention Assists with outreach activities and / or programming for center. Assists with and supports workshops, support groups and / or retreats. Participates in training sessions and workshops to enhance treatment skills. Gathers, analyzes and monitors the status and progress of individual cases and projects.Conducts client assessment / intake. Under general supervision, performs individual / group counseling, consultation, crisis intervention. Evaluates cases with limited to moderate complexity. Performs outreach activities and / or programming for center. Participates in / supports workshops, support groups and / or retreats. Participates in training sessions and workshops to enhance treatment skills. Gathers, analyzes and monitors the status and progress of individual cases and projects.    Provides counseling, clinical consultation and / or psychotherapy to clients. Develops and communicates treatment plans, provides crisis intervention / management and emergency services as required. Assesses clients and determines appropriate therapeutic approach in consultation with other behavioral health professionals as appropriate. Arranges for therapeutic interventions for clients with serious disturbance problems. Leads educational workshops, support groups and / or retreats for center. Participates in, or leads, training sessions and workshops to enhance treatment skills. May lead paraprofessionals in performance of clinical duties. May provide management consultation or coaching to department managers.Applies advanced concepts to provide counseling, clinical consultation and / or psychotherapy to clients. Develops and communicates treatment plans, provides therapeutic crisis intervention / management and emergency services as required. Assesses clients and determines appropriate therapeutic approach. Provides guidance to other providers on casework. As technical leader, performs specialized evaluation, diagnosis, and psychotherapy for the most complex cases. Develops and / or leads educational workshops, support groups and / or retreats for center. Develops / leads specialty programs. Serves as program coordinator, establishing and managing standards and related functions. Conducts seminars and trains professional and paraprofessional staff. Serves on various committees on issues of significance to the University. May provide management consultation, coaching or informal dispute resolution. May coordinate the activities of behavioral health professionals in the center / department. May lead the clinic in a specialized counseling domain.
