Custodian Lead

Custodian Leads oversee and supervise Senior Custodians and Custodians during their assigned shift, ensuring the effective completion of cleaning, housekeeping, and general maintenance tasks. They also perform related duties as needed to support operational efficiency and maintain cleanliness standards.

 

Incumbents typically plan, schedule, assign, and coordinate custodial work for an entire shift, including designating stations or area assignments. They orient, train, and assist Senior Custodians in determining duties, utilizing materials and equipment, developing work methods, and interpreting rules and regulations. Additionally, they are responsible for ordering, issuing, and storing custodial supplies and equipment. During their shift, they maintain security for one or more areas, evaluate the work of Senior Custodians and Custodians, and conduct routine maintenance inspections. Incumbents may also perform the duties of a Senior Custodian during relief or emergency periods to ensure continuous operations.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic calculations, and two years of custodial experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
