Laundry Rotary Press Operator

Under supervision, Laundry Rotary Press Operators perform skilled ironing and finishing tasks on a rotary press unit; and perform other related duties as required.

Incumbents typically operate the body or header section of a rotary press llllit; press uniforms, shirts, pants, laboratory coats; maintain the unit revolution rate set by the Head Linen Service Worker or Linen Service Supervisor; maintain predetermined quality standards for pressed items; and may clean the rotary press unit and/or work area.

The Laundry Rotary Press Operator class is distinguished from classes in the Linen Service Worker series in that incumbents perform skilled work on a rotary press unit.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic calculations, follow oral and written instructions, and one year of experience in a laundry or related linen service operation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
