Search
From Thursday, October 28 at 8 a.m. through Friday, November 19 at 5 p.m., you can make Open Enrollment changes online through your UC Retirement At Your Service (UCRAYS) account.

If you are a retiree enrolled in Medicare and living outside California, you must use the UBEN 100 form to make changes to dental and legal coverage.

The instructions below will help you make Open Enrollment changes using UCRAYS. If you're an employee, see How to make changes using UCPath.

1 Before you begin

If you're new to UCRAYS, you'll need to register for your account. You’ll be asked a few security questions to confirm your identity.

2 Getting started

  • Beginning October 28, sign in to UCRAYS with your username and password.
  • Select "Open Enrollment" on the UCRAYS main menu to get started.
  • The Open Enrollment page lists your current enrollments and your monthly costs for the coming year if you make no changes during Open Enrollment.

3 Making changes

You'll see options to add or remove a family member and to change or suspend plans.

  • Make updates to your covered family members before you begin making changes to your plan enrollments. Just follow the prompts to provide the required information, including checking the boxes to indicate which types of coverage you'd like to select for your family member.
  • When you've finished adding family members or selected "Make changes/suspend plans," you'll see an overview of all covered family members along with dropdowns to select plan coverage for each individual.
  • Starting with yourself, choose your desired plans from the dropdowns. After you select your own plans, the dropdowns for your eligible family members will display the plans available to them.
  • You must click "Calculate Total Cost" to review the total cost to cover you and your eligible family members.

4 Submitting (and resubmitting) your changes

  • Click "Next" to continue, then review and acknowledge the Participation Terms and Conditions and Important Notices.
  • You have one more opportunity to review your Open Enrollment elections. Then check the box to indicate your acceptance of the authorization statement, and click "Confirm" to finalize your elections. Your confirmation number verifies that your elections have been recorded.
  • You may return to the Open Enrollment application to make additional changes until Open Enrollment ends at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 19.

5 Confirming your enrollment

After confirming your Open Enrollment elections, you will receive a confirmation statement that summarizes your choices. You may also return to the Open Enrollment application, which will now display your confirmed elections for the coming year.
