Mark your calendar for May 17, the date of this year’s UC Walks events for most locations. UC Walks is a fun, free systemwide event that brings together faculty, staff, students and retirees to celebrate health, wellness and community.

“UC Walks is a great chance to get outside and boost your step count for the day, but it’s also a lot more,” explained Dyan Hall, UC Irvine’s wellness program administrator. “It’s a reminder of UC’s commitment to wellness, and to helping each other live healthier, happier lives.”

Visit the UC Walks page on UCnet to check out this year’s video and find out what’s happening at your location. Although most events will take place on Wednesday, May 17, UCSF’s event will be held on May 10, and UC Berkeley’s event will be held on Friday, June 16. Participants will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last, courtesy of UC’s medical and behavioral health plans.

Don’t forget to show your UC Walks spirit by sharing photos of you and your colleagues on Twitter, using #UCWalks. We’ll post a collection of #UCWalks photos on UCnet after the event. Check out a photo slideshow of last year's event.
