President Napolitano's statement following White House announcement in support of UC plan to invest in climate solutions

UC President Janet Napolitano spoke Monday (Feb. 9) at the U.S. Department of Energy's ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit to highlight the university’s investments in sustainability and its groundbreaking research enterprise.

“Today’s announcement by the White House at the ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit builds upon the University of California’s commitment to profitably invest at least $1 billion of its endowment and pension funds over the next five years in solutions to global climate change. We are pleased that the White House has recognized UC’s leadership in sustainable investing and commitment to maximizing the positive impact on the planet.
